Engine Process Engineer

The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The Process Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, agreeing and delivering detailed planning requirements and concerns closure as allocated to them by the Manufacturing Feasibility Manager. This includes planning for vehicle introduction from concept to SOP +90 days, and resolution of all concerns. The Process Planning Engineer must deliver to the agreed Quality, Cost and Delivery targets whilst ensuring TS16949 and VW Standards compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical
a. Responsible for delivery of APQP activities in line with PEP
b. Responsible for manufacturing sign-off of Bid specs and product B-release in-line with project timings and PEP deliverables
c. Identification and resolution of concerns through concerns tracker and KPM system
d. Identification of Jig, Fixture and Tooling requirements
e. Ensure continual updating of technical knowledge. E.g. Liaison with Group Colleagues, Benchmarking, Training etc.

2. Financial
a. Delivery of projects within agreed budget targets
b. Management of project cost risks
c. Supporting justification for Capital Expenditure Investment
d. Supporting 3P workshop activities to achieve K & P time targets

3. Planning
a. Concurrence of responses to Business requirements, e.g. TCD and AEKO, etc.
b. Generation of deliverable milestones & monitoring detailed Project plans
c. Work in close conjunction with other areas of production planning (launch and facilities) to ensure a consolidated approach and the continuous development of effective and efficient ways of working

4. Project Management
a. Delivery of all projects in accordance with Business requirements (Quality, Cost and Timing) and alignment with PEP
b. Pro-active avoidance or containment of Project risks

5. People
a. Supporting of team initiatives and activities in relation to Stimmungsbarometer and colleague engagement

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Manufacturing build process knowledge
* Concerns Identification and resolution experience
* Business Financial management and acumen
* Effective cross functional communication
* Project Management
* Risk Mitigation & Containment


PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
* Extensive Practical Knowledge in Problem Solving Techniques
* An Understanding of Dimensional Management Analysis
* Ability to Evaluate K and P times in line with Manufacturing Business Strategy
* An Understanding of Measurement Techniques
* Knowledge of Dry Builds and Properties Strategy
* Extensive Knowledge of Vehicle Build Processes


QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred ONC/HNC/HND in Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
