The Role:
Engine Program/OPD Engineer Position Responsibilities Overall function to facilitate Large In-Line Gasoline Engine Department delivery of Large I4 engine programs and installations into Ford/Volvo/JLR vehicles.
Planned activities within this position will include:
• Represent GEE in relevant Powertrain Program Module Team meetings.
• Participate in the Functional Targets setting process and monitor achievement status.
• Coordinate development of Program Assumptions to meet Functional Targets.
• In conjunction with base engine and P&E departments, participate in the establishment of the program DV plan and collate ESO status.
• Address open WERS/DURIS/AIMS concerns as appropriate.
• Update and input engine program status information into relevant Powertrain/Vehicle meeting forums/brochures.
• Liaise with Ford/JLR/Volvo Engineering, Engine and Vehicle Manufacturing plants and Purchasing functional activities with input to the engine program delivery.
• Support appropriate cross functional quality & warranty meeting forums to help resolve key issues.
This position could occasionally require travel on a European/Global basis

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Automotive Engineering or equivalent or completed two thirds of formal study towards a degree course and commitment to complete studies.
PC literate in MS Outlook / Excel / Word / PowerPoint
Base Engine & Program Management
Degree in Automotive Engineering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Detailed understanding of the ONE FORD leadership behaviours with evidence of their application within the work environment. A working knowledge of GPDS. An awareness of the following systems / processes: 5D, WERS, GQRS, SDS and system health charts. Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management. Strong drive for results and initiative with a proven track record. Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills to all levels of management. Project management and negotiation skills will be required. Candidate must have ability to work on own and as part of a global team. Strong interpersonal skills. Awareness/working knowledge of AWS Warranty System
