The Company:
Our Client is a Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
This position is based in London within the Global Drilling & Completion Group (GDC) and will report to the Engineering Team Leader, based in Houston. The primary responsibility will be to support Sub-surface groups working emerging projects in the Europe, North Africa and Middle East Regions. This support includes coordination with New Business Development Management, early participation and influence in conceptual project designs and generating corresponding cost estimates, attendance in project work and planning meetings. Although the position is London based there may be a requirement for periodic business related travel elsewhere in the US and internationally.

• Primary contact on behalf of Engineering Team Lead with interdepartmental teams’ issues relating to drilling and completion engineering. Liaison with other disciplines outside GDC including Exploration, Developments, Production, HSE, Global Supply Chain, and Finance.
• Collaborates with Asset Management teams on drilling and completion engineering requirements. This may include non-operated assets and wells. Provides budget drilling and completion costs.
• Establishes aspects of well construction alternatives to be considered during the early evaluation of opportunities for both our client and JV situations. Formulates design philosophy for drilling and completion operations. Directs well planning for pending projects.
• Ensures that Company policy, accepted industry standards, safety procedures and government regulations are adhered to in all aspects.
• Understands and executes the well planning process within GDC standards for the group to maintain consistency. Ensures Well Delivery Excellence (WDX) process is being utilized and facilitates WDX understanding with the planning teams.
• Maintains forecast of all wells to be drilled/completed and the materials required.
• Mentors inexperienced Engineers in the GDC – ENV group; recommending training, career planning, and succession planning.
• Conducts discussions on daily well site activities with projects teams. Provides technical consultation during drilling & completion operations when required.
• Supervises and coordinates development and analysis of all bid documents and resulting contracts.
• Directs analysis of equipment requirements, failures & problems. Assesses new technology for potential application.
• Monitors the progress of annual departmental goals.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Significant experience in well engineering/operations experience
• Proven staff management skills with experience in a leadership position
• Land and offshore experience
• Comfortable working strategically as well as tactically
• Proven project management skills
• Proven supply sourcing strategy development skills
• A natural drive for performance improvement
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• International experience
• Mobile, willing to relocate and work in other parts of the World
