The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As part of an established, motivated and fast moving team, the successful candidate would work for an experienced team leader to help deliver world class engine systems and components across several client applications. Delivery scale would be from Concept to Production Launch. Keys areas of responsibility; Cross Functional Team Leadership in delivering Designs (working with other CAD engineers and project managers / suppliers), Project management including translating engineering requirements into concept design, selecting optimised design based on Q,C,W,F & T and delivering design integrity through robust package assessments, tolerance stacks and detail design releases.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
CAD (Catia V5 essential - Teamcentre / Vis-mockup desirable) & design / development engineering support experience in Automotive / Engine designs. PC skills including project, excel and word.
Experience of component delivery to meet cost, performance and attribute targets.
Good understanding of engine components and requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and MS Project.
Strong understanding and application of design quality tools such as DFMEA, Robustness Studies etc.
Awareness of manufacturing processes associated with engine components and engine assembly.
Working knowledge of product delivery system ( AIMs , GPDS and EFDVS systems) would be an advantage.
Degree qualified or significant application experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of concepting and detail engineering drawings required in the context of engine components / systems.
