The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing wheel design from concept to production:
* To support component Module Technical Teams to ensure that project build and gateway requirements are achieved on time. * Manage component releasing for production. Support the creation of technical specifications, development plans etc.
* Creating and evaluating engineering sign-off plans, development plans, design specifications and drawings as appropriate.
* Liaising with suppliers and cross functional teams (Design, Purchase, Manufacturing and Quality) to define targets and ensure that components perform to requirements.
* Apply quality methods and tools to component delivery e.g. FMEA, APQP

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Development and delivery process used within the automotive industry
* Knowledge and or an understanding of low pressure die casting
* Ability to develop engineering solutions which meet defined targets.
* Ability to evaluate the performance and merits of designs from suppliers or service partners to ensure that requirements are satisfied. * Self motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision.
* Good team working, organisation and communication skills, able to foster good working relationships with Purchasing/ STA and suppliers.
* Full driving licence.
* Good PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications (training for internal systems will be provided)
* Degree preferred

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
6-sigma Green Belt / Black Belt training
