The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Our client's Material Procurement Procedures for joining technologies are being developed by Product Design (PD), Advance Manufacturing Engineering (AME) & Purchasing. You will act as the initiator from AME BIW Joining technology team in establishing and finalising the process by identifying the issues and solutions related to the process. You will liaise closely with the project teams including body engineering PD, AME BIW process, Purchasing material buyers and various suppliers to ensure availability of all materials required for joint feasibility trials from Product Start (PS) to final completion.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks: -
• To liaise with the project team to estimate an budget for joint feasibility and validation work including materials, cutting, feasibility tests, storage and transportation before commencement of submission
• To critically review list of Programme intent Materials issued by PD and check new materials and Product Ready (PR) status with PD Material engineering and Joining team
• To raise necessary AIMS against materials that don't have a PR status to PD Material engineering or Joining team
• To liaise with PD to confirm all material specifications, gauge requirements and % of usage in relation to joining process(es)
• To liaise with purchasing to ensure that all programme intent materials have specified suppliers
• To liaise with Purchasing to ensure availability of quotations and lead time for all materials within 3 weeks after UNV1 release
• To identify or establish material supplier(s), cutting supplier/s and joint feasibility supplier/s in order to coordinate all together
• To raise shopping cart, to liaise with finance and purchasing to ensure orders for all materials are placed in time and all materials required for feasibility tests 3 weeks after UNV2 will be delivered in time for cutting
• To liaise with project and finance to ensure orders for cutting materials are in place and all coupons required for feasibility tests 3 weeks after UNV2 will be delivered in time
• To manage or liaise with material, cutting and joint feasibility suppliers to ensure all materials will be delivered to a right address, stored in a right condition, marked clearly and correctly, distributed to right address/addresses with proper arrangement. The whole process must be correctly recorded at each stage with a tracking availability.
• To liaise with the project team to ensure that materials & coupons required for VP and HTFB build are ordered and delivered in time ready for VP and HTFB.
• To develop a suitable process in monitoring material stock levels at all stages of the projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate should be ideally working towards or currently educated to a Degree level in engineering or an automotive manufacturing technical field.

Preferred background may be within: -
• Material purchasing
• Logistic
• Engineering Marketing.

The candidate should have a good knowledge of PC Office Applications (Google Mail, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project). Strong Excel skills are required. Ideally the candidate should be familiar with PCDS and conversant with supporting business systems.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate should be able to carry out the following: -
• To identify or establish the project team including responsible personnel for PD body engineering, Material engineering, Purchasing and AME BIW
• To work together with the project lead joining engineer to obtain quantity of materials to be ordered
• To inspect and monitor the above logistic system regularly or at a daily basis to ensure no fault in between material order, storage, cutting, marking and distribution, etc.
• To monitor all materials usage by liaising with the project lead joining engineer to ensure sufficient material and coupon supply.
• To liaise with PD to obtain list of materials with specification and gauges at each release phase To inspect or monitor any changes of materials, specification and gauges between each release phase
• To liaise with Purchasing at each release phase to ensure that newly added or modified materials & gauges are ordered in time for feasibility tests; if not possible, the
