The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The individual will lead responsibility for the implementation of functional safety on Brakes electronic control systems.
The candidate will perform functional safety lifecycle activities in compliance with ISO26262, and have responsibility for the Brakes systems.
The role includes working with the client and external owners of electronic control units in the application of the functional safety.
The role also includes resolving system interaction issues at the electrical integration level.

* To support other non-specialist Brakes and Braking staff performing functional safety activities
* To perform Confirmation Reviews on functional safety work products produced by other staff
* To lead and support staff in resolving functional safety issues with suppliers
* To support incorporation of functional safety activities into Brakes engineering processes
* To ensure that the functional safety processes are followed in the development of Brakes features/systems & components
* To ensure that the safety requirements for products derived in a logical and rational manner and are rigorously documented

The role is based at Gaydon.
A flexible working process is currently being rolled out within the team and subject to appropriate planning and technology being available, the successful candidate would be encouraged to work away from the office one to two days per week.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to perform function safety lifecycle activities, particularly hazard identification & classification
Safety requirements derivation
Design analysis
Verification Validation planning
Safety case writing.
Key Word Search Criteria: Functional Safety ISO 26262 Software Design
Degree in electrical, software, mechanical, systems or system safety engineering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Automotive systems or other embedded systems
Experience of distributed systems
Qualification in Functional Safety or System Safety
