The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Vehicle diagnostics engineer to work on the Next Generation Infotainment platform

Automotive IVI (In Vehicle Infotainment) software and system design Working with a team of multi-disciplined engineers responsible for developing NGI software architecture Managing the software development of IVI applications on a Linux based infotainment system Performing system requirements analysis and software design using NGI system design documents and protocol standards Working with the Software Integrator as required to resolve architectural and development issues. Working with the 3rd Party Suppliers as required to resolve architectural and development

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of:
- Diagnostics for In Vehicle Infotainment systems
- Engineering screens access to system diagnosis data
- Software download of updates to vehicle infotainment systems
- Production of associated system documentation Able to analyse and resolve complex hardware and software interrelated issues.
Good experience of integration and testing of diagnostics software for VP cars.
Degree level in software engineering or a related discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline System Integration of Infotainment with non-Infotainment systems. Infotainment System knowledge (Startup, shutdown, resource allocation, data storage, CCF, LCF etc ) CAN (design, development and validation)
Periodic travel to other JLR sites in the UK as required. Full UK driving licence.
