The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
In-vehicle Networks design and test engineer.

Our client's Networks Technology Team is responsible for the design, development, launch and sign off of new in-vehicle network architectures and data busses including CAN, LIN, MOST, Flexray and Ethernet.

Candidate duties would include - responsible for validation and debug of CAN, Flexray and Ethernet in-vehicle network communication. Planning and running the Networks DVP, including practical labcar testing, circuit reviews, supporting hardware and software review activities, and issue resolution. Developing and updating test procedures. Feeding lessons learned back into network specifications. Investigate and resolve Networks issues on vehicles, labcar, and rigs.

**Electrical Engineering operates smarter working, generally required to work one day off site. (Occasionally required to visit other sites within the Midlands)**

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates shall be able to demonstrate a good understanding of vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, MOST, Flexray), and network design requirements. Shall have an understanding of hardware and software design, and Electrical Integration concepts such as Diagnostics and SWDL. Shall have excellent negotiation skills, ability to build relationships with other departments and suppliers, project management and communication skills, be self motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision. Understanding of the whole vehicle electrical system and the relationships between different features and functions. Ability to use vehicle network analysis and diagnostic tools including CANalyser and CANoe. Use of oscilloscopes and electrical test equipment. Analytical and problem solving skills

Essential experience includes design, integration or debug of complex functions spanning multiple ECUs, vehicle network design or validation, and the use of vehicle network design

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Detailed Flexray or MOST protocol knowledge
Previous formal in-vehicle networks training.
Technical knowledge and understanding of Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford, Volvo, or Aston Martin ""Volcano"" networks and ""EuCD"" electrical architecture.
