The Role:
Main Goals and Objectives
- Deliver PHEV Batteries and associated Functions to meet the requirements specified in the Product Description Book and Targets Catalogue
- Responsible for the specification, test and validation plan to achieve cost, weight, timing and quality targets for the project.
- Achieve engineering sign off for systems and components in area responsibility

Key Responsibilities
1. Support and lead Design Development
- Take the lead in design and development of technology in area of responsibility.
- Advanced ability to capture and specify the design requirements in area of responsibility.
- Lead Engineering test & validation planning and sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility
- Lead Engineering release and change management process.

2. Delivery of Projects
- Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a throughout a complete project development.
- Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in cross functional and project teams.
- Advanced of cross functional working with other areas of the business.
- Lead an initiate working with suppliers for progressing project deliverables.
- Basic financial awareness of their role in the organisation.
- Knowledge of cost of parts and systems with an understanding of value engineering.

3. Problem Solving
- Ability to solve Highly complex Engineering and design related problems.
- Analysis and management of multiple design related issues to identify the root cause.
- Collect data, manage data and analyse data to produce reports as appropriate and progress design guidelines.

4. Developing and maintaining Specialist Knowledge
- Responsible for keeping the functional area up-to-date with technology in area of responsibility.
- Capture learning from previous experience
- Work with group partners to influence development of modules group specific requirements

5. Ability to work within team
- Able to work effectively in the cross functional team.
- Lead contribution in delivering team objectives.
- Specific Information for role
- Responsible for Validation test and sign off of Hybrid battery systems in conjunction with other engineering departments

- Higher Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Membership of relevant professional intuition and Chartered Engineer status preferable

Skills & Experience
- Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
- Design and development skills
- Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
- Experience in the delivery of high voltage electrical/electronics systems in the automotive environment
- Ability to solve problems
- Understanding of Health & Safety and capability to complete risk assessment in own area
- Practical & Technical Knowledge
- Significant advanced knowledge of : Design and development and measurement. Engineering drawings:
- Ability to use industry standard Software Development and Validation tools (e.g Vector CANoe)
- Understanding of the future direction within the field of Hybrid electronics
- Understanding of functional & System development encompassing V-Model
- Understanding of Product Emergence (PEP)Understanding of Functional Safety & its application with Hybrid components
- Awareness of operating requirements and safety of working with high voltage components
- German language preferable
