The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Engineer reporting to the Supervisor of the JLR Instrumentation Services Group at Whitley. Delivery of instrumentation to support both JLR Engineering and Manufacturing customers and the Vehicle Programme/'s and Cycle Plan Supporting and working with a small team consisting of an engineer and hourly fitters all having a diverse variety of calibration tasks and projects to deliver Expected to work closely with a diverse customer base that have wide ranging measurement/control and sensor calibration requirements

Whitley, Occasionally Gaydon or Solihull

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skill sets and experience of measurands such as:- Temperature, Pressure, Load, Torque, Acceleration, Displacement, Frequency, Voltage, Current and Resistance Ability and aptitude to follow detailed process and calibration procedures - ideally have a basic understanding of the principles of UKAS and an ISO 17025 laboratory Recording data and preparing/issuing calibration reports and certificates - and additionally capturing all the information on our departmental calibration database Attention to detail and flexibility (mobility) is a primary requirement of this role

Will have preferably worked in the 'calibration' field before and be well versed in the delivery of a calibration and maintenance service Will have perhaps been actively involved in the writing and development of calibration procedures in the past Ability to manage and prioritise our customers requests

Preferably a Degree/HND/HNC in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline Perhaps served a recognised Apprenticeship Com

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A thorough knowledge of the Calibration discipline Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical sensors and transducers PC Literate and experienced in the use of Microsoft WORD and ExCel Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
Ability to work on ones own initiative
