The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Responsible for the delivery of Seat Frames to the defined Product Design Specification of Task Description. Working with Group and 1st Tier Group suppliers to deliver the road map for Seat delivery across the range.

Responsible for developing and maintaining specialist technical and business knowledge / capability.

Key Responsibilities

Accountable for the delivery of components / systems to the defined Product Design Specification or Task Description

• Ability to work to defined Product Design Specification including specified targets i.e. unit cost, investment cost, quality, weight, DV and PV testing etc
• Responsible for instructing Engineering changes that are required for part / system delivery
• Responsible for the collation and presentation of data to support Engineering / cross-functional meetings

Ability to take an analytical and systematic approach to create optimal solutions to problems

• Responsible for design investigations supporting route cause analysis
• To propose the optimal design solution to meet the business requirements
• Responsible for prompt concern resolution on existing components, including containment solutions if necessary

Ability to work within a team

• Manage, monitor and , if necessary, expedite, supplier and / or external design house activities concerned in the design, release and delivery of the prototype and production parts.
• Lead the analysis, identification and release of design solutions to problems encountered through the development phases and testing in a timely manner, ensuring the integrity of the system
specifications and launch timing
• Accountable for the support of the timely delivery of all product-engineering activities to meet start of production

Responsible for developing and maintaining specialist technical and business knowledge/capability

• Ability to provide design direction to CAD Engineers
• Give technical direction to other feature owners
• Give engineering and business process guidance to other associates
• Assist and coach less experienced staff in all aspects of engineering principles
• To liaise with Engineers and external design partners

Excellent time management and self-organisational skills

• Responsible for defining and planning own workload for approval by line manager
• Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to urgent unforeseen tasks
• Occasional overseas travel may be required in support of project working and delivery. There may at times be the opportunity to work extended periods overseas
• Responsible for providing accurate planning information required to support project KPI's

Engineering Releases

• Responsible for the release of quality data in the approved systems to the agreed task instruction in line with parts timing targets
• Achieve cross-functional agreement prior to release as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous engineering experience delivering Seat systems is highly desired, however experience of other Interior systems will be considered
• Must be prepared to travel 3/4 days per month for project meetings within Group.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
HNC qualified or equivalent and / or able to demonstrate the appropriate level of experience.
