The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for the delivery of specific components / systems, by using Comapny systems and applying theoretical, practical and innovative design solutions within the relevant Engineering discipline.

Scope of the Role

- Responsible for the delivery of components/systems to the defines Product Design Specification or Task Description.
- Ability to take an analytical and systematic approach to create optimal solutions to problems.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Responsible for developingandmaintaining specialist technical and business knowledge/capacity.
- Excellent time management and self organisational skills.
- Engineering Realease.

Qualifications

- HNC qualified or equivalent and/or able to demonstrate the appropraite level of experience.

Experience

- Appropriate experience working as an Engineer within Automotive or Aerospace industry.
- Previous experience and knowledge of Automotive Safety Systems, including Seat Belts and/or Front/Side Airbags essential.

Additional information

Role involves Ownership of one or more of following systems within the Restraints Department:

Frontal Airbags – Driver, Passenger, Knee
Single stage, Dual stage and adaptive functionality, ownership of deployment doors etc, development (but not ownership of) deployment environment.
Delivery of projects through management of First Tier Safety System suppliers.
Close collaboration on all systems with Certification and Safety Integration departments.

Side Airbags – Thorax, Head Thorax, Curtain
Development of deployment systems in Seats and Upper trim environments in close collaboration with Seating & Trim Departments
Incorporation of FMVSS226 requirements for Curtain Airbags.
Delivery of projects through management of First Tier Safety System suppliers.
Close collaboration on all systems with Certification and Safety Integration departments.

Seat Belts Front and Rear
Including Load Limiter, Pyrotechnic Pretension and Electric Motor Assist Technologies.
Belt Presenter solutions, Seat Belt Buckles, and colour matching.
Development of Seat Belt environment vehicle Cabin in close collaboration with Seating & Trim Departments.
Delivery of projects through management of First Tier Safety System suppliers.
Close collaboration on all systems with Certification and Safety Integration departments.
