The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is CAD based and covers the layout of vehicle suspension concepts including consideration of functional performance, component feasibility and selection, design for manufacture and design for assembly. The packaging and layout of all types of Chassis hardware will be considered including the generation and cascade of system and component hardpoints. The role requires cross functional communication to establish & deliver requirements in the target vehicle package.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Use of Catia v5 CAD & TCe (TeamCentre) to develop suspension concepts and resolve issues with system performance and conflicts between component areas. A very high skill level in advanced CATIA tools is expected including part design, kinematics, parametric modelling and generation of package clearance surfaces. Ability to evaluate complex Chassis choices using cost, weight, vehicle level performance measures, quality performance, system strategies and platform life-cycle integration. Generation of geometric and non-geometric official data for project virtual series gateway requirements. Ability to lead and guide cross-functional attribute and component teams to deliver Chassis solutions. 5+ years Chassis engineering experience in a primarily CAD based role Issue resolution leadership in cross-functional teams. The candidate should also hold a relevant engineering qualification.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Original design in CAD of chassis components. Understanding of the basic function and design requirements for a wide range of Chassis components, particularly those involved with suspension geometry and tuning. Vehicle or underbody packaging. Ideally have a Batchelors degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
