The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role is within the Human Factors Attribute team whose focus includes the identification and delivery of customer interface requirements. The successful candidate shall be responsible for the creation of cross-car line strategies for the methods of interaction with in-vehicle controls and displays. To achieve this the successful candidate will be expected to- i) conduct benchmarking of the control & display strategies of automotive competitors ii) liaise with stakeholders across the business to understand their requirements iii) access and interpret relevant available data (e.g. JD Power) iv) formalising the agreed strategy in a suitable format accessible to the wider business. They will also act as the primary contact point for the resolution of controls/displays interface related issues on current vehicle programmes as they arise. The work will require close cooperation with other members of the HMI & A&U Attribute team to ensure successful implementation of the strategies across vehicle programmes.

Experience Required:
Clear report writing. Conducting evaluations / user trials

Experience Preferred:
Experience within the automotive industry

Education Required:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in related discipline (e.g. Ergonomics / Human Factors).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates need to be able to demonstrate an ability to successfully weigh up multiple, potentially competing, factors to deliver a solution. They shall be creative, with a proven ability to deliver concepts, sometimes from a 'blank sheet'. Ability to interpret data and to correctly apply that learning to help guide a design solution. Must be able to robustly defend their proposals, whilst at the same time taking on board the opinions of others

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and interest of automotive industry trends. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.
