The Role:
Our client currently has an opportunity in our ICT department for an Engineering Applications Support Engineer.

This position would suit an individual with experience of supporting engineering applications in an EPC contracting environment. It is a customer facing role that covers system set-up, administration and problem resolution, and the use of application technologies to deliver improvements and efficiencies to engineering design activities. An appropriate level of understanding of underpinning Information and Communication Technology systems is required. Previous experience implementing, supporting and enhancing Plant Design 3D CAD applications on large multi-disciplinary and multi-execution centre projects. Experience in a petrochemical engineering environment preferred. Experience of the support and administration of AVEVA PDMS preferred. Candidates with strong PDS and/or Smartplant 3D Administration skills and experience will be considered.

• Implementation and support of engineering design applications
• Administration and configuration of 3D modeling tool
• Assisting with development and customisation of system deliverables such as drawings/reports, based on project requirements
• Assisting with preparation of client deliverables/handover and project closeout
• Identification of automation opportunities within engineering application portfolio
• Liaison with business customers to analyse and deliver system requirements
• Assisting in problem diagnosis and resolution
• Ensuring application developments or changes are fully tested, documented and approved in accordance with Departmental procedures
• Assisting with the development of technical system standards
• Development systems procedures and work instructions based upon best practices
• Monitoring of system performance to ensure the smooth operation of deployed systems
• Maintaining an up to date knowledge of technical advances in specialist area
• Liaising, as required, with third party suppliers of application software with regard to problem resolution, planned preventative maintenance, upgrades etc.
• Project experience of PDMS setup, configuration, administration and support, including the use of global workshare and PML
• Working knowledge of PDMS 3D design activities

• Smartplant Product Suite including Smartplant P&ID, Smartplant Instrumentation and Smartplant

• Bentley ProjectWise
• Microstation / AutoCAD
• Citrix
• SQL Server / Oracle
• VB .Net / C#
• ITIL awareness
