The group consists of 3 divisions being Engineering and Production Facilities, Well Support and Gas Turbine Services.
Our Client is an international leader in both marginal field developments, in life-of-field engineering and in production support.

The Role:
Basic Purpose of Job:
Manage the Aberdeen engineering, design and DCC resources on the Client contract, ensuring that all responsibilities are dealt with accordingly. Maintain Technical Assurance of the engineering and close out process and drive improvement within. Ensure that the quality of work produced is to a standard in line with client expectations.

Main Duties:
•Provide leadership to engineering, design and DCC teams, maintaining motivation, discipline, morale and quality of output.
•Shall maintain an overview of schedule performance and output quality, communicating any deviance identified in the integrity of the team's objectives.
•Shall ensure that the short to medium term planned engineering deliverable dates are realised and changes in priorities are communicated effectively
•Ensure that there is effective communication between engineering, projects and construction teams
•Ensuring Technical Integrity of the engineering output in all areas of the contract's activities.
•Responsible for maintaining relations with the client in respect of engineering and design issues when required.
•Continuously improve the quality of the engineering and close out process, updating applicable processes and procedures accordingly.
•Maintain the integrity of the engineering and close out process and associated management system, improving the process and procedures on an ongoing basis.
•Assist in resolution of priority/schedule clashes ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of team resources.
•Shall maintain links and hold regular discussions with the Contract Engineering Manager to ensure consistent approach and quality.
•Assist the contract engineering manager with the challenge of the engineering and design team estimates and change requests.

•Maintain an awareness of relevant current technology, changes to UK and International Standards and Codes of Practice and changes to UK legislation as it affects offshore and onshore work. Ensure Engineers are made aware of these new developments.
•Shall ensure that the Root Cause Analysis process is used and understood when undertaking any type of investigation. Rollout and incorporate learnings from any RCA carried out.
•Shall support the innovation process and seek opportunities to improve the Wood Group PSN position in the market place.
•Responsible for recruitment, training and career development of staff and their subsequent competency and performance assessments.
•Actively promote and comply with the Client Core Values.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education & Qualifications:
Degree qualified in an engineering discipline

Chartered Engineer with relevant recognised professional body desirable

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
◦Formal management training

Considerable experience in the engineering industry, of which some has been in a major Oil and Gas Contractor in a supervisory position

◦Some experience of managing a multidiscipline engineering team within a design office environment.
◦Considerable experience in the development and application of the necessary process to assure technical integrity

Personal Skills:
Team player / role model

Capable of representing WG PSN and Client to business associates in a professional manner

Capable of providing direction & guidance

Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
