The Role:
This role is intended to provide support to the Engineering Manager and his team to increase efficiency and the effective use of resources. The role asks for more than a traditional technical/team assistant skill set and will require the candidate to work comfortably in a technical /project management environment using common engineering terms and work management practices.

Typical support activities will comprise:
•Coordination of Engineering Team’s compliance and assurance activities, including approvals for terms of reference for mandated group technical safety reviews, attendees, setting up and administration of project health, safety, security and environment (PHSSER) reviews.
•The preparation of spread sheets, reports and presentations with help/supervision from the Engineering concerned (data entry, editing/reformatting of existing documentation, preparation of simple sketches, collation of material for reports etc).
•Operation of data management and business support software in the areas of management of change, risk management, interface management, deviation management, action tracking, technical approval of invoices, HSE reporting, time writing system, file sharing, document storage, archives etc (training will be given).
•General technical support to North Sea Cat B Projects Engineering team, comprising set up of workshops, liaison with teams, contractors and third parties, attendance engineering meetings, note taking, preparation of summary minutes and actions lists following team, dissemination of documents via electronic systems (in collaboration with document controllers).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Education to HNC or degree level
•Proven ability to deliver in a multi-tasking support environment.
•Excellent people and team working skills.
•Experience in oil and gas projects/operations in some technical support function will be an advantage, also acceptable is experience gained in other engineering or construction industries where exposure to typical design and project management issues has been acquired.
•Further education in a technical, science or applied science discipline.
