The Company:
Our client, a major oil company with operations in Canada and internationally.
This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Project Services, a part of Major Projects, provides uniform and standardized project processes as well as necessary hands-on consultation and services to all major capital projects within the company. The position is to strengthen the core Engineering Management (EM) Governance group. This position reports to the Director EM Operational Excellence.

• The mandate for this role is to maintain and improve the Client's standards, practices, policies, processes related to Project Services Engineering Management governance supporting a portfolio of Major Projects.
• Manage Engineering performance, progress, quality, improvement initiatives
• Develop, write, implement, maintain EM standards, procedures, specifications, processes, engineering execution plans
• Provide the required Engineering Management training

• Position will be located in Calgary
• Periodic travel will be required (typically day or overnight trips)
• Work is typically in a Matrix organizational environment

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Must have P.Eng. status or equivalent)
• Min 10-15 years EPC Contractor experience
• Alberta Oil Sands Projects experience is an asset
• Site experience a significant asset
• Hands-on experience in Engineering Management, Project Engineering,
Multi-disciplinary Engineering, EM Best Practice, across the full project lifecycle
• Demonstrated experience in developing, writing, implementing EM standards, procedures, specifications, engineering execution plans, processes
• Managing Engineering performance, progress, quality
• Excellent communications skills, including writing
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Hands-on, proactive and results focused
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
• Excellent analytical, interpretive and computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong relationship-building, facilitation and negotiation skills
