The Role:
Providing technical management and leadership of the engineering function, comprising discipline engineers and designers to support project execution in accordance with Client specifications and requirements

Discipline Management
Responsible for the supervision and co-ordination of the engineering resources in accordance with the Contract.
In consultation with the function heads of discipline, recruitment of competent engineering resources in support of the project
Management of the project cost estimates and basis of design documents
Management of the planning and budgeting of the engineering work, including activities, documents, engineering schedules, interdisciplinary dependencies.
Ensure consistent use of MMO UK systems, processes and procedures including PEM and akimstm
Ensure good PEM knowledge within the engineering organisation and arrange PEM introduction/training as required.
Ensure engineering input to project reporting in accordance with project requirements
Ensure identification of changes and participate in evaluation of change requests.
Attend meetings with Client where management and technical discussions concerning quality, engineering solutions and decisions are needed.
Prepare engineering input to project reports as required by project
Ensure commercial awareness in the Engineering Team.
Report to Contract Manager all matters of importance.
Technical
Responsible for the overall delivery of engineering activities in accordance with the Contract and MMO UK standards and procedures.
Responsible for the Technical Integrity of all engineering work performed on project.
Ensure that engineering work is performed:
in accordance with the project execution model.
in accordance with the engineering schedule.
within engineering budgets
with focus on Quality and HSE aspects.
in accordance with established design basis.
Ensure establishment and maintenance of an engineering activity schedule (Level 4):
reflecting the entire engineering scope of work.
in accordance with PEM.
in accordance with the overall project schedule.
with clear ownership to all activities within the engineering organisation.
Ensure establishment and maintenance of a document development schedule (Level 5).
Ensure that approved changes are implemented in the engineering schedules.
The implementation and follow-up of quality assurance requirements within area of responsibility.
Review and implement any reports and actions from quality audits Review and implement any reports and actions from quality audits and other actions allocated via Synergitm.
Implement corrective actions as necessary / as agreed.
Ensure that the Health, Safety Environment and (HSE) aspects are thoroughly considered, planned, implemented and followed up for engineering activities

APPLICANTS MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK WITHIN THE UK

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to Degree level.
Full professional membership and able to demonstrate continuing professional development.
Chartered Engineer.
In depth understanding of the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry.
A strong understanding of the capabilities of the key engineering systems & tools in operation within the upstream oil & gas industry.
Large Brownfield modifications.
Minor brownfield modifications and term contracts.
Front End Studies
Demonstrable experience within a similar environment / industry.
Upstream knowledge of oil & gas projects.
Leadership of multi-discipline teams within a brownfield modifications environment
Comprehensive knowledge of execution of modification projects through all phases of concept development and selection to final completion.
Ability to work on own initiative; self motivated, willingness to learn and adapt.
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively within the organisation and with external clients / customers.
