The Company:
A multinational utility company its principal activity is the supply of electricity and gas to businesses and consumers in the United Kingdom and North America. It is the largest supplier of gas to domestic customers in the UK, and one of the largest suppliers of electricity. It is also active in the exploration and production of natural gas; electricity generation; and the provision of household services including plumbing.

The Role:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring technical integrity of the facilities to deliver availability and reliability expectations. The post holder will be the member of the NL leadership team and will be accountable and responsible for all Netherlands asset integrity, production integrity and engineering activities.

The role will have a strong interaction with the UK Operated Assets Engineering team and the Technical Function. The post holder will co-operate to align NL and UK Operated Assets reporting and practices.

Accountabilities:

• Accountable for delivering engineering support activities to solve problems in order to deliver high operational availability and reliability
• Accountable for the process performance and technical integrity of all surface engineering facilities through identifying the risks and impact of decisions on broadly defined engineering problems
• Accountable for optimising and implementing Engineering standards, procedures, practices and complying to statutory legislation
• Accountable for establishing and maintaining all surface facilities engineering data to enable safe and effective operational performance
• Accountable for the NL Engineering Change management process

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and Qualifications:
• Proven professional engineering experience in E&P facilities technologies within operations and capital projects at Principal Engineer Level
• Has sound understanding of the safety and commercial impact of engineering decisions on an operated asset
• Operational plant experience would be an advantage
• Degree qualified to first degree level in a mechanical or process engineering discipline and a chartered Engineer or an M.Sc degree supported by practical experience
• Knowledge of Dutch legislation and regulation preferable but not essential
Essential Skills:
• The ability to implement organisational change
• The role requires an experienced individual who is recognised as a multi-discipline professional engineer, who is skilled at leading and managing engineering risk and business value add
• The role requires cross-border working and an ability to integrate different points of view and working cultures

Person Specification:
• Has worked at a principal engineer level
• Communications skills sufficient to explain key technical issues to non-technical staff
• Process or mechanical engineering degree
• Experience gained within an oil and gas operator environment
• Experience of being directly responsible for delivering organisational change within an engineering environment.
