Engineering O&M Support Manager - Overview

Our client has an opportunity for an Engineering O&M Support Manager to work at their multi-million pound O&M base in Grimsby.
Package: £55k-£65k depending on experience plus 12% bonus + £5100 car allowance + 3% flexible benefits allowance + pension + benefits + private medical cover.
Location: Grimsby, Lincolnshire

Engineering O&M Support Manager - The Role
The Engineering O&M Support Manager manages resources within the Engineering O&M Support group and provides flexible support in the Operations and Maintenance department to meet the assets objectives in an efficient and safe manner.
The role will provide the interface between Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and the equivalent Engineering Integrity resource.
The role will involves assisting in determining technical solutions and improvements for technology used within the sites.
In the role you will be responsible for the development and implementation of discipline site engineering procedures.

You will:
Manage the site based engineering teams.
Ensure that all necessary support is given to the operations and maintenance department (O&M) from an engineering perspective.
Ensure site based engineering interfaces with the other engineering departments and external stakeholders effectively.
Be responsible for the development and implementation of discipline site engineering procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of HNC (or equivalent experience) in an appropriate engineering subject.
Demonstrable experience gained within the power generation industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible approach adapting quickly to things new, changes in the job and work environment and who enjoys being fully involved in ensuring the business is a success.
Identify improvements and take initiatives to the betterment of the business.
Good numeracy, literacy and problem solving skills.
Demonstrable competence in use of IT/IS skills e.g. MS Office & MS Project.
Demonstrable competence in use of SAP.
Familiarisation with mechanical systems similar to those used on the assets.
Experience on engineering standards associated with the mechanical systems in use.
Familiarisation of inspection and maintenance procedures associated with the mechanical systems in use on the asset.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or relevant engineering HND supplemented by relevant on job training and experience.
Member of recognised professional engineering institution.
Implementation and management of site engineering schemes including experience of associated commercial decisions and the ability to undertake such decisions.
