The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
Assist with the production of R&D scope briefs
Carry out full life cycle R&D projects
Interfacing with the design department and site operations department
Complying with R&D internal procedure
Attending regular meetings (frequency to be agreed with PM) with SL, Design and Operations department.
Interface with site personnel specific to the projects.
Attend site related workshops and meetings where applicable.
Maintain all project related Quality Control matters including the production and updating of the Site daily Diaries, FAT’s and reports.
Interface with client on project related matters including Requests for Information, Technical Queries etc.
Sign onto permits to work and review, produce and amends Site/Sellafield Ltd method statements and risk assessment.
Aware of the emergency arrangements for their work areas, and their role in relation to those they supervise.
Understand the specific requirements for reporting recording and investigating events.
Responsibility to contribute to the design process
Communication of all Health and Safety related information to the workforce.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Practical knowledge of operational methods statements and risk assessments.
Awareness of relevant standards.
Ability to communicate with clients and other disciplines
HNC in a related Engineering discipline together with a time served apprenticeship
2 years minimum of Engineering experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
IOSH Managing Safely – 4 days
