The Company:
Our client, a major international oil and gas operator, seeks Engineering Technician to join their team!

The Role:
The Engineering Technician is a member of the Onshore Capture & Appraise team and will be responsible for providing technical support for the multi-disciplinary team. Onshore Appraise covers a wide variety of technical disciplines such as reservoir engineering, petrophysics, geology, geophysics, drilling & completions, and production engineering. The Appraise (Pre-Developments) team helps drive value for future projects to be developed by the corporation in the onshore regions around the globe. Current projects include Paris Basin, China, Australia, and California. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, with a clear focus on the value that effective planning and engineering support can bring to the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineering Tech will be responsible for the following areas:
- Provide technical support to subsurface team members.
- Acquire, load, QA/QC, and analyze engineering and geological data needed for subsurface evaluation.
- Assist with business plan requirements (Reserve cycle, Budget and Plan cycle).
- Provide a key integration role in using software to allow early project evaluation such as PetroVR.
- Support team with development of Field Appraisal Plan documents.
- Assisting with report and presentation preparation for various projects.
- Provide essential data management support for multiple projects in terms of both physical data/files and electronic data/files
- Lead the management of Share Drive and SharePoint organization.
- Mine and analyze cost estimate information for future development activities and assist in utilizing in economic evaluations
- Integration of land and technical data in maps and visualizations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an engineering technician or related work experience

EDUCATION:
- Technical degree/diploma or relevant Industry Experience

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills (especially Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (a team player)
- Familiarity with onshore developments and unconventional resources
- Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast paced environment

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Desire to develop new workflows to improve team efficiency
- Ability to use mapping software such as ArcGIS
- Familiarity with onshore surface facilities and cost estimating
- Working knowledge of economic evaluation software such as PEEP
- Database utilization skills
- Knowledge of OFM or similar production analysis software
- Experience with Daily Activity Reports for drilling and well work
- Knowledge of general oilfield mnemonics
