Our client, a diverse Canadian Energy Company, plans new developments estimated at $12+ Billion over the next 5 years.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. Residents of Newfoundland & Labrador will be given first consideration for this position.

The Role:
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Environmental Programs & Regulatory Compliance Coordinator shall oversee elements of the
implementation of environmental commitments and the adherence of the Project, including the Client's consultant, contractors and suppliers to Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001
program. The role will also include strategic initiatives, as may be assigned, relative to programs, reporting,
and permits and/or authorizations that may be required.
This position will require extensive liaison within the E&AA group, the various scope managers responsible for
the planning and execution of work and the clients consultant.

DIRECTION RECEIVED:
Reporting to the the client— E&AA Manager, once oriented, should be
capable of performing day to day functions with limited supervision and direction. Strategic priorities will be
established by the client, E&AA Manager in concert with the Project's scope managers

DIRECTION EXERCISED:
This position will be responsible to provide a significant amount of direction with respect to the areas of
responsibility. This will include liaison within E&AA, TDI, and SOBI, and the client's and their contractors.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position shall (the following is being executed as a contract scope of work):
• Be responsible for implementation of various environmental programs consistent with EA
Commitments and other conditions of government release from the EA. This will include leading
internal teams, and engaging Third Part Services (consultants) for execution of well defined work
scopes.
• Contribute to overall Environmental Management and regulatory compliance related to the clients directly managed field and construction works associated with the SOBI Crossing in accordance to the client 14001 EMS and legislative requirements. Specific deliverables will include completion of any studies
and reviews that may be needed, environmental awareness training, environmental protection
planning and response plans, and compliance to regulations and legislation (including GAP-fuel
storage). The position will also be responsible for environmental reporting, corrective action and closeout,
and rehabilitation at the end of field and construction works.
• Monitor and advise on environmental management and regulatory compliance activities of the clients Consultant,
including their development of an Environmental Management Plan for the Project,
Environmental Protection Plans, Waste Management Plans, Regulatory Compliance Plans, Spill
Response Plans and Rehabilitation Plans.
• Work with the clients consultant and SOBI Crossing Team to establish and maintain an overall master
register of consents, licenses, permits, notifications, and approvals required for the Project.
• Assist in implementation of the overall environmental and regulatory compliance audit program,
including action tracking system, to attest the compliance of all contractors with stated management
plan commitments.
• Maintain strong interfaces and working relationships internally and with regulatory approval
authorities, including attending internal and external meetings as necessary to maintain coordination
and tracking of regulatory compliance requirements.
• Facilitate and address any findings from audits led by the clients Environmental Services.
• Work with the E&AA group, generally, in helping to fulfill commitments/requirements of EA release,
such as participation in management committees and on-going consultations, follow-up and
monitoring activities.
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and reflected in ongoing work as appropriate in order to deliver
upon the continuous improvement mindset.
• Provide technical guidance to team members on a wide range of environmental and regulatory
matters.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Diploma in an Environment Science, Environmental Engineering, Law or related discipline or
equivalent, plus continuing education.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
5 years of experience in an environment and regulatory role including experience in the following
areas: practical field based work, project management, approvals / applications preparation, regulatory
compliance and report writing.
• Experience in the energy industrial sector is considered an important asset;
• Experience developing and working within an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
