The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source an Acoustics and Noise Specialist to work within the LNG project Environmental Department, assisting with technical queries related to removing noise issues.

• Work directly for the LNG project owner
• Brisbane based role, with occassional site visits
• Long term, 12-24 months, opportunity

The Acoustics and Noise Specialist will be responsible for establishing noise mitigation strategies and managing the delivery of them. Working for the project owner you will provide technical assurance in relation to all acoustic and noise issues.

Typically, the incumbent will undertake environmental noise and acoustics assessments and building acoustics, in addition to writing technical reports and proposals.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead studies to identify technical solutions
• Analyse regulations and outline technical support packages to decide on how to tackle Environmental Authority constraints
• Document technical decisions so that they withstand third party scrutiny (e.g. validation of BAT & ALARP)
• Provide technical input to briefs for senior management, communication with DEEDI and DERM, legal documentation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent years experience
• Experience as a technical authority within noise or acoustics
• Knowledge of acoustic engineering principles in the Coal Seam Gas industry

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartered, or equivalent professional membership
• Experience working on major CSG projects in Australia
