The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia.

The Role:
The Environmental Advisor - Compliance Assurance role will sit within the Environment team for the Gorgon Downstream project.

The role's key responsibilities are:

• Implements, maintains and improves the Construction phase Environmental Management System
• Participate in risk based workshops (HAZID/design etc).
• Co-ordinate the development of plans, procedures, risk registers, targets and objectives and monitoring programs
• Coordinates activities for environmental compliance assurance programs
• Advise/mentor site based supervision and provide functional support to site based environmental teams to ensure environmental compliance
• Coordinate the Environmental auditing program
• Conduct inspections/audits on internal environmental management system and contractors/work packages.
• Collates data for departmental environmental reporting and conducts environmental performance trend analysis.
• Supports secondary approvals process, through document review and updates, as required.
• Perform review of relevant environmental documentation where required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline
• Environmental experience preferably in the resource industry.
• Site based experience, contractor supervision and consultant management essential.
• Demonstrable experience in maintaining environmental management systems.
• Demonstrable experience in the design, implementation, analysis and reporting associated with environmental management and monitoring programs.
• Demonstrable experience in undertaking environmental risk assessments, including HAZIDs and ALARP studies.
• Proven communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Collaborative and consultative approach to working with others and a strong team ethic
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Commitment to sound environmental management outcomes and an incident and injury free workplace

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Demonstrable experience in conducting environmental audits
• Knowledge of and experience in interpreting and applying environmental legislation and relevant Australian & International Codes and Standards.
• Lead auditor certification (preferred not mandatory)
