The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.

In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
As the Environmental Advisor - Dredging you will provide onsite environmental advice for managing Dredging activities for the construction phases for the Project Gas Field Development Project.

• Assist the Senior Environmental Advisor-Dredging in the preparation and review of Contractor and Company Environmental Management Plans and/or procedures related to Dredging activities to obtain secondary environmental approval under NT legislation.
• Liaise with members of the Dredge Expert Panel, NRETAS, and/or DSEWPAC representatives on Dredging related matters.
• Become Dredge Spoil Disposal Management Plan subject matter expert and provide specialist dredging support as required for environmental compliance during Project execution.
• Conduct regular vessel inspections to assess contractor compliance against environmental & quarantine commitments, and participate in internal and external audits.
• Provide timely advice to Dredge Contractors on their obligations under the DSDMP; Company Management Plans (e.g. Cetacean Management, Heritage Management, Oil Spill Response Contingency Plan etc); and Contractor Management Plans.
• Identify practical solutions to any potential constraints with implementing environmental & quarantine commitments in the field.
• Regularly engage Contractor workforce by:
o Attending regular Contractor pre-starts, meetings, and toolboxes.
o Developing and delivering environmental & quarantine toolbox presentations.
o Encouraging good environmental performance by Contractor workforce.
o Recognizing and rewarding environmental best practice.
o Regularly visit vessels to discuss Contractor environmental obligations with crew members and obtain feedback on marine fauna sightings.
• Actively participate in environmental and quarantine incident management processes. This may include, but is not limited to:
o reporting all stranded, injured or dead marine fauna to Senior Environmental Advisor - Dredging.
o undertaking incident investigations, identifying root causes, and reviewing corrective actions in consultation with Contractor.
o closing corrective actions within agreed timeframes.
• Review, Assess, and Approve Contractor chemical applications using Chem Alert prior to Dredge Contractor mobilizing to site.
• Provide support to Senior Environmental Advisor - Dredging with reviewing marine far-field, mid-field and near-field monitoring results for any exceedances of pre-agreed environmental thresholds and communicate Company expectations to Dredge Contractor.
• Provide dredge activity updates to the Company Public Affairs team as part of Inpex's communication strategy to inform the Darwin community.
• Provide timely Environmental advice to the Dredge Package Manager and Technical Engineer on an as needs basis.
• Provide other environmental support as requested by the Senior Environmental Advisor - Dredging, or the Environmental Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in marine science or environmental management (essential).
• Higher level degree (desirable).
• Preparation of environmental management plans.
• Implementation of Environmental commitments.
• Contractor engagement & contractor management.
• Sound understanding of tropical marine environment.
• Sound understanding of dredging and vessel capabilities (desirable).
• Minimum 3 years project experience in Environmental Management in resources industry.
• Site experience (desirable).
