The Company:
Our Client is a global operaator in the oil and gas industry.

The Role:
The Environmental Advisor shall provide a competent and proactive service across all UK assets and projects to ensure that environmental risk is understood and mitigations or controls are put in place in a timely and economical fashion.

The Environmental Advisor shall provide a full portfolio of services including but not limited to:
• establishment and management of project and asset Permits &Consents Registers;
• coordination of all environmental permits and the management of external consultants to assist in permit preparation, submission; and revision as required
• preparation of environmental screening documentation
• management of all aspects of company compliance with relevant environmental legislation and associated liaison with government, their advisors as well as other stakeholders as required;
• represent company to provide competent environmental inputs at HAZID/ ENVIDs, HIRAs, HAZOPs, design reviews, gate reviews etc
• general and issue specific environmental training;
• offshore / onshore Environmental Auditing (inc platforms, MODUs, vessels; onshore facilities as required)
• establishment, collation and reporting of environmental metrics to the organisation and to meet statutory obligations;
• environmental incident reporting and investigation;
• coordination of the preparation, submission and ongoing maintenance of Oil Pollution Emergency Plans including the development and management of Oil Pollution Emergency response exercises,
• assistance to the UK HSE Manager / Group HSEQ Mgr to develop and implement UK or BU wide processes and procedures

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
• Provision of environmental support & advice to staff and contractors
• Ensure that the environmental risks associated with the work are systematically identified and mitigated
• Take a leading role in the development of a proactive environmental culture
• Act as the competent point of contact for external Regulatory and other stakeholders
• Ensure a current permits and consents plan is in place
• Provide leadership in terms of OPEP preparedness
• Take a leading role in the preparation and implementation of company procedures and policies
• Provide a training resource as necessary

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Environmental training experience
- Detailed knowledge of environmental regulation as pertaining to the offshore E&P business
- Ability to work at project and senior management / Governmental level
- Min. 5 years relevant experience in the UK offshore Oil and Gas sector working on environmental issues
- Recent Advisor experience in / directly supporting an E&P business
- An appropriate environmental based qualification i.e. / Bachelors / Masters Degree
- Offshore survival and medical certificates
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Organised, task driven and proactive
- Planning and supervisory skills
- Consummate Team player
