Our Company is a powerful new oil & gas production and development company, has been formed from the demerged North Sea interests of joint venture. Our company assets have been contributed by both firms on a debt free basis. We are a focused independent company.

The Role:
Position Overview:
Our Client is the leading UK independent oil operator in the North Sea with a dynamic management team and exciting growth plans to develop operations further in the UKCS. This position will be offered on a staff basis working within a multi-disciplinary team and reporting directly to the Drilling Operations Manager, under the guidance of the Corporate Environmental Advisor, you will provide environmental support to the Well Delivery Team. The incumbent will have experience of providing environmental support and advice to MODU and platform drilling teams and be able to work independently and undertake tasks in line with the Client HSEQ Strategy and Operational Plan.

Principal Accountabilities:
The Environmental Advisor shall provide a competent and proactive service to ensure that environmental risk is understood and mitigations or controls are put in place in a timely and economical fashion.

The Environmental Advisor shall provide a full portfolio of services including, but not limited to:
• Management of company compliance with relevant environmental legislation and associated liaison with government, their advisors as well as other stakeholders as required.
• Coordination of all environmental permits and the management of external consultants to assist in permit preparation, submission and revision as required.
• Input to Permits and Consents Register as required.
• Morning calls as required.
• Provide general and issue specific environmental training support.
• Develop processes and procedures for EMS.
• Collation and reporting of environmental metrics to the organisation and to meet statutory obligations.
• Provide environmental input to annual HSEQ Plans.
• Environmental auditing.
• Environmental incident reporting and investigation.
• Input to on-going maintenance of Oil Pollution Emergency Plans.
• Provision of environmental support & advice to staff and contractors.
• Ensure that the environmental risks associated with the work are systematically identified and mitigated.
• Take a leading role in the development of a proactive environmental culture.
• Proactively support the development and implementation of company procedures and policies.
• Support the subsea function on ad hoc basis.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience
• Proven relevant experience in the UK Offshore Oil and Gas sector working on environmental issues.
• Recent experience in directly supporting an E&P Business in an Environmental Advisor capacity.
• Detailed knowledge of environmental regulation relating to Offshore Oil & Gas activities.
• Production, distributing and maintenance of technical documentation – specifically producing reports and proof reading.

Qualifications
• Candidates must be qualified to Degree Level in an Environmental field or equivalent experience.
• Can evidence professional and personal development and/or learning.
• Current offshore survival, medical and Mist certification required as the role will include offshore trips.
• Can articulate learning and training experiences.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Membership of a professional body.
