The Company:
Leading integrated energy company. A major player in exploration and production, power generation & trading they use their strong brands and distinctive assets and capabilities to achieve success in their chosen markets.This role is based within our clients Renewable Energy team - they are one of the largest UK operators of offshore wind generation assets and have a planned build program to add a further £3Bn worth of wind farm assets over the next four years.

The Role:
This role will assist the Head of HSE and Environmental Manager in the establishment and delivery of good environmental practices within our clients project teams, with a focus on providing day to day site level support for construction, as well as, operations and maintenance activities.

The primary areas of activity will focus on:
Providing day to day site level environmental support for construction, as well as, operations and maintenance activities.
Supporting the HS&E project teams with day to day environmental guidance and advice.
Ensuring legal compliance is maintained at all locations, including maintenance of our legal registers and associated communication of requirements and best practice.
Undertaking environmental audits and inspections to ensure legislative compliance of all relevant activities.
Championing, maintaining and co-ordinating the existing ISO 14001 environmental management system.
Reporting and investigation of environmental incidents, identifying preventative and corrective actions and tracking their progress and effectiveness.
Supporting the production and distribution of environmental management information and data.
Development and delivery of relevant environmental training for site H&S Advisors and the wider operational team as appropriate.
Working to improve the current H&S Advisors understanding of environmental issues and through this process to improve the ownership and management of environmental issues at site/project level.
Review of risk assessments, environmental management plans etc. to ensure appropriate consideration and management of environmental risks.
Liaison with the Environmental Manager, Consents Team, Marine Co-ordinator, and H&S Advisors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have;
Extensive previous ‘hands-on’ environmental management experience, complemented by existing environmental qualifications.
Member of IEMA.
Previous experience of offshore maritime requirements preferably gained through experience in the off-shore wind industry.
Experience of managing ISO14001 certified management systems.
A comprehensive understanding of environmental legislation and its associated requirements.
Highly motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Must be a good communicator, in order to effectively work with the HS&E team, and able to work to tight deadlines delivering to a high standard with minimal help from others.
A confident trainer able to develop the environmental capabilities of others.

An awareness of Offshore Chemicals Regulations and relevant chemicals lists would be an advantage.
