The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
We have been asked to source an Environmental Advisor to work on one of the Coal Seam Gas projects here in Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the field environmental activities to meet environmental compliance commitments.

Liaising with all sites, this role covers the well sites, gathering and flow pipelines, field compression, water processing facilities, ponds, access roads, as well as other associated facilities. Essentially, you will provide environmental and legislative advice to support to the area. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating the projects environmental obligations, in addition to the impact on the business including the EIS.

You will be responsible for:
• Apply existing management procedures and policies in coordination with Management of Environment Operations
• Develop compliance inspection schedules for demonstration of compliance with Approvals and Environmental Management Plans for Operations in consultation with the Environment Compliance and Audit team and HSSE Superintendent
• Development, implementation and maintenance of environmental processes, procedures, reporting and monitoring practices that are in line with company objectives
• Ensure contractors are briefed and compliant with environmental and relevant regulatory programs through development of a simple induction and/or on boarding program
• Assist corporate management to develop and deliver environmental regulatory programs
• Liaison with the other Project and Operational Environment Team to ensure equipment and processes being delivered are compliant with the strategy and the goals set out in the EIS

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental, Science, Engineering, or equivalent years experience
• Knowledge of environmental issues gained from working in the Oil and Gas industry, particularly related to large construction projects
• Environmental Approval and compliance experience, including construction environmental management

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience working on major Oil & Gas or Resources projects in Australia
