The Role:
Environment Advisor- Overview
To provide advice and guidance to the Gas Terminals and offshore platforms management teams regarding compliance with environmental legislation and best working practices. To monitor environmental impacts and compliance and to work to raise awareness of environmental issues across the assets.


Environment Advisor - The Role
The role reports to the Field Operations Environment Advisor and the main responsibilities of the job holder will be;

To provide support to the operational assets by the provision of environment advice and guidance to comply with environmental legislation, permits and best working practices and to monitor compliance with those environmental requirements.
To assist in the maintenance of the ISO14001 Environmental Management System for the assets and the development of environmental procedures, to provide guidance on these to line managers and complete internal audits.
To monitor and report environmental performance data across the field to both internally and externally to regulators seeking to identify trends in performance and means to improve.
To maintain a positive environmental culture across the field by raising awareness of environmental issues and provision of environmental awareness training to staff.
To investigate of environmental incidents and near misses, to complete investigation reports and to identify suitable corrective actions and report those to the management teams.
To provide environmental advice to project teams on legislative and company specific requirements and to ensure the required environmental permits are in place for project work to commence.
To assist in the maintenance of emergency response plans for the operational assets. Supports the planning, execution and follow up of emergency excercises.
Provides support to operational assets by way of provision of environment training, system audits and advice

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Environment Advisor - The Person

Key attributes:
Educated to degree level (with an appropriate environmental qualification) or to be progressing to membership of an appropriate professional organisation such as IEMA.
Excellent communicator with the confidence to search out your own network of contacts both internal and external and share knowledge across the business.
Focus and tenacity, combined with both professional and personal attributes that generate credibility and respect at all levels.
Operational experience of dealing with environmental compliance issues preferably within the in the Oil and Gas industry or in a similar regulated operation.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Special conditions: There is a requirement to travel to our offshore platforms.
