• The Environmental Advisor will assist the SD2 Environmental & Social Team Leader to ensure that SD2 offshore facilities are constructed in compliance with the approved ESIAs / ESMMPs, as well as the relevant construction contract clauses
• The Environmental Advisor will act as a coach to the Company site team to raise the capability of project personnel in all areas relating to good environmental management & compliance.
• Act as the primary interface on environmental issues between Company and contractor personnel – technical direction and support will be provided by the SD2 environmental and social lead and other HSSE team members as required
• Assure Construction contractors implementation of construction contract requirements
• Support Integration of the SD2 environmental teams across the different work locations
• Support over-sight and assurance activities relating to environmental verification, & compliance auditing and raising corrective actions as necessary
• Develop and promote site environmental awareness campaigns
• Maintain environmental KPI and environmental assurance reports, monitor trends and undertaking a program of routine site inspections
• Provide general environmental support to Company construction site team members in preparation of reports and presentations, review subcontractor reports, participating when required in environmental audits and inspections.
• Prepare monthly environmental data and progress reports
• Informal translation and interpretation – informal translation of letters, interpretation in meetings and during site visits
• Perform Safety and Environmental General Inspections with Company and contractor personnel.
• Assist in accident/incident investigation(s), by collating facts, data and information relative to these incidents.
• Monitor Site Environmental trends and analyse to identify potential opportunities for improvement.
• General document control - maintain electronic and hard copy files of communications and reports, preparation of presentations and reports

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Competent in communicating in English, Azeri and Russian language.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Self-motivated, accustomed to being in positions of responsibility and accountability; independent and proactive; able to work well under sustained pressure.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels as the successful candidate will be required to communicate with teams from a variety of disciplines and cultures
• Ability to produce written reports in English.
• Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power-point.
• Able to work 6 days per week with possible occasional offshore travel
• Minimum: Environmental/science/engineering university degree or recognised international environmental qualification
• Desired: Professional development qualifications in HSE, Environmental and/or Waste Management (e.g. NEBOSH, IEMA etc.)
• Minimum 2 years of practical work experience as an environmental advisor for an operator or construction/environmental
