The Role:
Purpose of the role:

To be committed to continual Environmental improvement, prevention of pollution and eliminating any unnecessary damage to the environment from our operations.

To support and lead environmental compliance across Group and where possible, surpass any applicable regulations.

Identify, co-ordinate and provide effective Environmental advice across Group

To promote and demonstrate continual improvements in Environmental performance.


What is expected to be delivered and what action will this require?

- Environmental Standards & Compliance
- Provide environmental compliance, advice and support to Group
- Obtain ISO 14001:2015 accreditation for Group sites
- Support the transition to 14001:2015 and then maintain
- Coordinate statutory submissions with relevant supporting partners e.g. CRC, CCL, Packaging and VOC
- Ensure Environmental Permitting arrangements are in place for Group activities
- Train environmental auditors to carry out compliance audits against KPI's
- Develop and maintain procedures for environmental aspects including emergency incident response
- Identify changes in Environmental legislation and assess the impact to Group activities
Deliver Environmental awareness training to all levels of the organisation
Audit environmental compliance

Energy
- Collate and present monthly billing data for energy and utilities to demonstrate usage, trend analysis and for business and statutory reporting purposes.
- Drive the implementation of at least one identified ESOS initiative annually
- Drive reduction improvements in energy and utility usage at Hethel with a view to reducing environmental, CRC and financial impacts.

Waste Management
- Drive the continued role out of waste recycling and avoidance across Group sites
- Complete duty of care waste audits from cradle to grave

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualified to degree level or similar

High levels of basic education

Environmental qualification e.g. NEBOSH, IEMA

Environmental Management Systems experience

14001 standard knowledge

Ability to present information to all levels of the organisation

Enthusiasm for and knowledge of environmental issues
