The Company:
An international EPC Company involved in LNG and Mining Projects.

The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen on a contract basis for an Environmental Advisor based onsite as a rotational position. The position shall include some nightshift work.

Environmental Advisor - Nightshift is a member of the Environment team and must possess the skills to provide technical guidance, expertise and direction to construction personnel and implementation contractors. The individual must take a collaborative and consultative approach to working with others, displaying a strong team ethic.

Specific responsibilities include :
• Undertaking all activities in an incident and injury free manner
• Providing timely and accurate environmental management expertise, technical guidance and onsite support
• Advising/mentoring site-based project personnel and contractors as required to ensure environmental compliance
• Working in partnership with Perth-based Environmental team to ensure alignment on environmental management and support
• Overseeing on-site implementation of environmental requirements, monitoring and advising on compliance with project personnel environmental commitments (including impact mitigation strategies and company environmental approval documents)
• Maintaining clear communications between project personnel and contractor workforce (including attendance of contractor toolbox and pre-start meetings)
• Conducting inspections on contractors and work packages to ensure conformance with environmental requirements
• Reviewing and approving contractor documentation as required
• Supporting contractors’ implementation of their Environmental Management Systems
• Maintaining record of contractors’ documented implementation methods for environmental compliance
• Participating in risk-based workshops (HAZID/design etc.)
• Reporting and participating in the investigation of environmental hazards, near misses and incidents in the area(s) of responsibility
• Develop and implement contractor environmental awareness and education programs
• Review and support JHAs, Ground and Vegetation Certificates
• Undertake general fauna handling and relocation duties
• Performing other works as required by the LNG Environmental Coordinator

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum qualification – degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
• LNG experience - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Environmental Management Field Construction and/or commissioning experience is highly desirable.
• Demonstrable experience with the implementation of Environmental Management Plans (experience with construction industry EMPs will be considered highly desirable)
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience in Western Australian/Commonwealth environmental legislation
• Knowledge of relevant Australian and international codes and standards
• Demonstrable experience in liaising with other disciplines, client representatives and contractors in an office and on-site situations
• Demonstrable experience in the design, implementation, analysis and reporting associated with environmental management and monitoring programs
