The Role:
- Oversee development of Environmental Impact Assessments associated with exploration, development, construction, plug and abandonment, and decommissioning operations
- Prepare Environmental Impact Analysis and Environmental Assessments for submittal to regulatory agencies as part of plans and permits
- Assist Environmental Manager and Crisis & Continuity Manager with reviews of internal requirements for environmental aspects of emergency response
- Coordinate the delivery of various environmental training courses as required, including courses related to environmental emergency response
- Assist with various wildlife and biodiversity issues, including but not limited to evaluating business impact of issues related to Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act, and developing written comments on these issues
- Review deepwater environmental survey reports to ensure the presence or absence of deepwater benthic communities are assessed and properly communicated to project teams
- Gather technical environmental information and prepare mandatory corporate reports

• Problem solver – ability to isolate a problem and recommend solutions;
• Good influencer – ability to work with others to gather information or gather feedback on issues;
• Attention to detail – ensure information provided by contractors is correct and reliable.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current
employer required
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural sciences, engineering, or environmental policy
- Minimum of five years professional work experience in the environmental field
- Experience with preparing and overseeing Environmental Impact Assessments
- Highly organized
- Can work well with others
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience with offshore oil and gas regulations
- Experience with environmental regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with specific Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) plans and permits
- Experience with wildlife biodiversity issues in the marine environment
- Basic level of awareness of Incident Command System (ICS) and crisis management
- Experience managing contractors
