The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
• In consultation with the E&R Team, support implementation of approved Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) and Comprehensive Study Report (CSR) commitments relevant to activities.
• Oversee GBS &Topsides EPC contractors’ activities to ensure compliance with the EPP and CSR, as well as compliance with regulations and permit conditions.
• Liaison with EPC contractors’ E & R Teams to ensure approved procedures and equipment are in place in order for the Site to respond to spill incidents (marine or land based) .
• Maintain liaison with Government agencies, local community/fisheries interests on environmental and socio-economic/fisheries issues.
• In consultation with the Site Construction Manager, represent the Project at meetings with regulatory agencies and community groups.
• Participate in community relations initiatives in coordination with the Site Community Relations Advisor
• Inform the Site Construction Manager of all relevant environmental, community and fisheries related issues.
• Attend weekly on-Site Construction meetings as required to keep informed of site work plans.
• Support E&R compliance audits of the Project Contractors adherence to the EPP.
• Support Emergency Response Coordination as required.
• Support the incident investigation management process and participate in incident investigations as required.
• Ensure that contractors report all environmental, socioeconomic, permit, and regulatory incidents at required intervals and assist with follow-up investigations.
• Review & comment on contractor’s plans & procedures & ensure E&R signoff.
• Preparation of memos, letters and reports.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technology/ Engineering diploma or equivalent education complemented with 3-5 years experience
• Must be flexible, and provide a high level of support in a fast paced work environment.
• Ability to understand and interact with diverse groups and operations.
• Knowledge and/or experience in the area of construction management
• Key execution of plans and tactics to meet day-to-day requirements.
• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs.
