The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Recognised as an environmental and social (including land acquisition) expert, he / she will act as a line coach to leaders, engineers, supervisors and technicians to raise the capability of the workforce in all areas relating to good environmental and social (including land acquisition) management & compliance.

•Coordinate the delivery of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) to ensure project impacts are minimized and permits are obtained in a timely manner
•Develop an E&S Management System consistent with CLIENT’s OMS and ISO 14001
•Coordinate internal E&S monitoring and assurance processes on design, construction and operational activities consistent with Government, Partner and CLIENT’s relevant practices and procedures
•Coordinate external stakeholder engagement activities with civil society institutions, government, international donors, and project affected communities
•Ensure that lessons learned and relevant information and expertise from other CLIENT worldwide projects, or projects in the region are captured and disseminated to the ESIA team and project
•Train and mentor national employees to support their development and performance and understand local cultural impacts & risks upon E&S performance
•Liaise with CLIENT Regional E&S representatives
•Provide assurance by reviewing the Engineering Design Reports to ensure environmental issues have been taken fully into considerations and conform to HGA requirements.
•Ensure environmental issues are addressed in the Contracting process in accordance with the requirements of the HGA, ESIA and RAP.
•Assist in the sourcing and interviewing of environmental, social, land and cultural heritage staff
•Support training initiatives in all aspects of environmental, social, land and cultural heritage.
•Maintains a highly visible profile & reputation for good communication & delivery across Project personnel
•Support Project teams in complying with environmental aspects of CLIENT HSE policy and standards.
•Assist in the delivery of assurance processes relating to environmental verification, certification & compliance auditing.
•Support Project Leadership in the validation, tracking and management of all environmental (direct) consents / regulations including making application for any new permits/consents
•Deliver relevant environmental internal / external performance and compliance reporting requirements
•Become an effective interface with external Regulatory bodies on environmental and social issues

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Environmental degree and accredited with a relevant environmental body

•Strong environmental background with experience in dealing with pipeline design and construction and regulators
•Strong understanding of environmental legislation
•Experience in designing, undertaking and reporting on environmental and social impact assessment, including public participation (such as public scoping of ESIA documents, public dialogue and comments on ESIA documents and consultations with stakeholders)

•Ability to network and a track record in delivering performance against demanding targets.
•Ability to lead through influencing people out-with & within own team.
•Strong Performance Bias and able to work under own initiative
•Ability to make good risk based decisions, including during times of stress.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Actively promotes a positive team environment
•Demonstrates a clear understanding of the business context then acts accordingly
•Demonstrates shared commitment to the success of the team and the wider organisation
•Assimilates complex and ambiguous data to identify key issues and aid decision making
•experience in Azerbaijan/Georgia for development projects – focus on large capital value projects that include construction, commissioning and operations scope
