The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Consultant who will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of project related tasks, ranging from contaminated land assessments to permit management and compliance as well as identifying and pursuing new projects opportunities.

Candidates will complement the existing team and share responsibility for delivery of a wide range of project related tasks including:
• Contaminated land assessments, remedial options appraisal and risk assessment
• Groundwater resources evaluation and protection
• Permit management and compliance
• Environmental procedure compliance including best practice and BS standards

Activities to be carried out are:
• Regular client / contractor liaison
• Review of proposed scope of works, proposals and valuations
• Develop and implement site assessment design scopes and associated reporting
• Review and assess site remedial options
• Contract management and management of budgets

Candidates will be encouraged to identify and pursue opportunities for the development of new projects and skills for the group.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree level qualification in geology, hydrogeology, civil environmental engineering, environmental science or environmental technology.
• Relevant MSc qualifications desirable.
• Superior ‘technical author’ skills with high level of attention to detail.
• Effective communicator - ability to communicate with all grades of internal and client personnel and the Regulator’s officers.
• Skills complementary to industrial environmental regulation would be beneficial e.g. experience of EMS, IPPC, etc)
• Ability to work unsupervised on client sites.
• Sufficient commercial experience to assist in development of proposals.
• Ability to take responsibility for quality, programme and commercial controls on own projects
• Accept and deal with responsibility for project delivery and client liaison.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm.
