The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
An opportunity is open for a Environmental Coordinator role to join the Environmental and Quarantine Management Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordination of environmental management programs and accountable for the implementation and ongoing improvement of the project Phase 4 Environmental management plan in relation to for BWI LNG Plant Site and CO2 Pipeline Construction Activities.
• Direction and supervision of 4 Site Environmental Advisors work scopes and activities and close interface with other Environmental and Quarantine team members/coordinators to facilitate effective and efficient work programs.
• Coordination of the environmental management activities for LNG Plant site activities and Provision of Environmental advice (technical, regulatory and compliance related) to the BWI based Construction discipline teams and LNG Plant and CO2 site contractors
• Ensures that LNG Plant and CO2 site facilities are constructed and activities undertaken in accordance with approved Environmental Management plans and environmental commitment requirements. Includes environmental compliance inspections and audits of Project work sites, and participation in third party and regulator inspections and audits of relevant sites and activities.
• Supports on-site environmental issues and incident investigations and follow-up and facilitate lessons learned across rest of Site Contractors and Project Team. Reports and participates in the investigation of environmental hazards, near misses and incidents in area of responsibility. Reviews environmental incident reports for adequacy and effectiveness of control actions to ensure they are fully implemented and effectively closed out within agreed timeframes
• Liaises and communicates on a regular basis with all stakeholders to ensure environmental issues are addressed in a practical, timely and appropriate manner. Maintains clear communications between project Environment team and the implementation contractor, including attendance of contractor toolbox and pre-start meetings • Responsible to ensure relevant environmental performance on BWI. Provision of status reports on the performance of LNG Plant and CO2 pipeline facility Contractors to the Site Environmental and Quarantine Superintendant.



Education:
• Environmental science or management degree (or similar)

Experience:
• Minimum of 5 – 7 years relevant and practical field operational experience and/or experience in major construction projects and/or industrial operational environments, ideally with large grassroots petro chemical projects focus. Experience in environmental auditing would be beneficial and practical knowledge of emergency response planning and implementation, incident investigation and management are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:
• Preferred candidate(s) would have more than 10 years experience in working in the environmental and/or quarantine management field, ideally with experience in areas of high environmental sensitivities. WA North West experience would be beneficial.
• This is a supervisory site based (BWI) back to back position with a high degree of independence and interface requirements. The candidate must be a self starter with strong and demonstrable experience and skills in people management, contractor liaison and with implementation of construction environmental management programs.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Practical knowledge of relevant Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation is essential

Additional Comments:

Position duration is 12months, working 11 hour shifts on a 28/28 roster on BWI
