The Role:
Ensure there are adequate documented procedures for the control of all environmental and chemical activities on site.

 Assist with all audits, of the site chemical services to ensure compliance with legislation.
 Management and reporting of all environmental aspects of systems as they impact on the Stations integrated pollution control and authorisation.
 Liaise with Sellafield Limited in reporting to the Environmental Agency in line with the Sellafield Site IPPC and EU ETS requirements.
 Assist with the training for Operations and Engineering staff to ensure they are fully conversant with all procedural controls regarding chemical and environmental systems.
 Provide expert advice and input on all projects that impact on the Plant and Environmental Chemist designated areas.
 Liaise closely with the SHEQ Manager to ensure all statutory obligations are met and any new legislation is complied with.
 Assisting in the Management of all Waste control facilities in respect of design, layout, procedures, compliance, notification and control.
 Assist with the training in waste control management to operations, maintenance and contract staff personnel.
 Review site operational logs from previous day/night. Note & plan any required actions.
 Review nightly waste report from security, noting points for action & ensuring their implementation.
 Attend, contribute to & positively represent the Chemical team at the daily 9 o’clock meeting.
 Carry out the instrument tour with designated personnel and provide a report to the Lab.
