The Company:
Our client has an immediate opening for a Environmental Engineer within an Owner Project Offices .

The Role:
Overview: Environmental Engineer will oversee the Conceptual Policy implementation, as well as Early Works and Facilities Construction for an LNG development.
This position will be oversight and advisory oversight including providing regulatory and environmental support employees and contractors, and leading compliance assurance audits.

Responsibilities
•Provide Regulatory and Environmental guidance, education, and support to construction, drilling and operations personnel.
•Collaborate with onsite HSSE Advisor and site supervisor to evaluate spill incidents and supervise spill clean ups.
•Provide support for emergency response.
•Input and/or review spill reports in HSSE system.
•Collaborate with Corporate Environment and Compliance Assurance team on external spill reports to government.
•Documentation and management of waste profiles and manifests.
•Conduct audits and inspections to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
•Manage Industrial Runoff Monitoring program, as required under AESRD Approvals.
•Support the site-wide management and usage of surface water.
•Provide environmental field level oversight for Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) monitoring programs.
•Provide Environmental and Regulatory Awareness Training to employees and contractors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications
•University degree or technical diploma in Environmental Science, Resource Management, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
•A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience within the environmental industry in an advisory capacity for oil and gas developments in Western Canada
•Solid Oral and Written English Language Presentation Skills
•Pipeline developments and Coastal Management experiences a must.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Western Canada requirements and Approvals, and Provincial and Federal regulatory requirements and Directives related to oil and gas facilities.
•Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
•Experience dealing with stakeholders and provincial regulators.
•Self-starter, strong work ethic, innovative, independent thinker and learner.
•Proven ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships.
•Current Citizen and Resident of Canada
