The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. Spending more than 20 years building a culture of safety and environmental stewardship that strives to achieve world-class performance, our client places the highest of priority on developing a strong safety focused culture.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Environmental/Quarantine Specialist to join a global operator, working on one of Australia's largest LNG projects. This role originally commenced as part of the environmental approval conditions for this LNG mega project due to the presence of DPaW officers located on barrow island from the start of construction. This position played a key role in managing the interface with the DPaW officers on-island and developing relationships and processes in the early stages. Although this interface still occurs, the relationships and processes are now in place and the time and resources required have reduced significantly. As a result this position has evolved and now primarily supports the Environmental and Quarantine Superintendent and manages the systems and processes integral to the Environment and Quarantine Team. The position has also taken responsibility for the coordination of environmental management of contractor activities for those contractors who have an operational and maintenance role. This is a site based position on Barrow Island, requiring a high degree of initiative, diplomacy and coordination skills.

Key Job Responsibilities
Primary interface and point of contact with on-island Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) sites/scopes and whole of island environmental, biodiversity and quarantine management issues.

Supports the Environmental and Quarantine Superintendent, including interface responsibilities with Perth environment team and other disciplines.

Primary interface and liaison with BWI project Environmental team to facilitate consistency of on-island environmental management and advice.

Support environmental compliance inspections and audits of Project work sites, and participate in third party and regulator inspections and audits of field activities.

Day to day interface with members of the BWI-based integrated Environmental and Quarantine team in relation to understanding work scopes and construction activities.
