The Role:
Develop and propose for HSE senior management endorsement the facilitation and communication of an environmental strategy for the CEEP.
Delivery of effective environmental management acrossExploration and Production (E&P) via a structured EMS framework certified to ISO 14001. A core component of delivery is the Environmental Team RACI matrix which will be reviewed, updated and communicated periodically to ensure it is in alignment with the EMS.
Provision of ‘Technical Authority’ role for the environmental function across E+P with primary responsibility for ensuring a consistent and high-level of professional support across the organisation. Responsible for:
Establishing documented standards for key areas of environmental support
Promoting compliance with these standards by leading (e.g. training and awareness) and lagging measures (e.g. audits and reviews)
Monitoring developments in the wider upstream domain and using this information to periodically update standards in line with industry best practice.
Environmental technical expertise with due regards to Mergers and Acquisitions, Due Diligence.
Delivery of effective Environmental Stakeholder Engagement for the E&P business as a whole. Responsible for:
Strategic engagement with key environmental regulators and other key stakeholders.
Membership of and engagement with key industry associations.
Engagement with Group Environment and Corporate Responsibility teams
Co-ordination of E&P Environmental Performance Reporting.Responsible for:
Ensuring alignment with Group standards
Establishing a framework with associated protocols and guidance to be used for data compilation.
Maintaining and analysing performance trends and recommending improvements periodically reporting on these trends to management.
Communicating environmental performance to the wider organisation
Developing key performance indicators for the business as whole and appropriate reporting processes.
Co-ordination of Career Development in consultation with the appropriate Line Manager for all members of the CEEP Environment Function. Responsible for:
Provide input to personal development programmes for all members of the Environmental Discipline in line with the CE Competence development framework.
Establishing succession and career-development plans for all members of the function
Coaching and mentoring all members of the function


Environmental Manager - The Person

Safety Personal behaviours are expected to align with the Way in terms of “we do it safely or not at all” and “We care, we take the time to do it right” (Where safely is also taken to mean environmentally responsible)
The individual requires significant strategic environmental discipline experience preferably within the Oil and Gas industry in an operational environment.
Essential Skills required are interpersonal and influencing skills, coaching and mentoring others. Demonstration of effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree level in a relevant science subject or equivalent.
Membership of an appropriate professional body.
