The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
The Environmental Offsets Advisor will provide advice to the GM Environment and Manager Strategic Environment on all matters related to environmental offsets, implement Environmental offset programs and develop processes for recording disturbance of vegetation and fauna habitat.

Duties include-
Identification of optimum offsets to meet the Company obligations in Federal and State Government EIS approval conditions and subsequent permit approval conditions.
Formulate strategic options that may be available to combine offset requirements across different government agency requirements.
Implement the Company Environmental Offset Program.
Manage expert ecological and offset subconsultants to develop offsets package to the relevant Government body.
Liaise with key internal stakeholders such as Land Access, Social Performance and Corporate Affairs as necessary
Support Land Access and Commercial departments in negotiating arrangements with landholders
Represent Client in Compliance meetings with Federal and State Government agencies

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Professional experience in the ecological assessment and/or environmental offsets areas in Queensland Experience leading teams of ecological experts and regulators
Experience developing environmental offset strategies and plans in Queensland

Tertiary qualified in an environmental or ecological science subject
Familiarity with various GIS software packages (eg. Arcview, Arcinfo)
In-depth knowledge of State and Federal policies on environmental offsets
High level of understanding of the regulatory framework applicable in Australia and of international/national codes and standards.
