The Company:
Our client is a leading oil and gas company.

The Role:
Provide Environmental guidance and coordination support for the Company capital projects program. This is to include working for the Program Manager and Project Leads. Support Company engagement with State and Federal Agencies regarding permit stipulations for capital projects. Ensure project execution plans address all permit stipulations. Serve as a technical resource by providing guidance and assistance to ensure compliance with the environmental requirements. Identify environmental risks and offer mitigation strategies to the team. Assess field activities by conducting onsite audits and inspections to ensure environmental compliance. Support construction activities with Construction Management Group and contractors for transparency of permit language and permit submittals for successful execution. Serve as the lead role and mentor the environmental technicians.

BASIC/REQUIRED:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, safety, biology, chemistry, industrial hygiene or environmental sciences
PREFERRED:
• Masters Degree in environmental engineering or science, biology, geology, or related sciences
• 5+ years of environmental permitting and compliance experience with an emphasis on upstream exploration, seismic, development, production or abandonment operations
• 3+ years of experience in Alaska environmental compliance (waste, water, land issues, field monitoring/study design)
• Working knowledge of Alaska local, state and federal environmental and land use regulations (North Slope Borough, AK Dept. of Environmental Conservation, AK Dept. of Natural Resources, Alaska Coastal Management Program, and Minerals Management Service) including the National Environmental Policy Act and its application to oil and gas projects
• Alaska North Slope experience
• Exceptional leadership, organizational and problem solving skills
• Professional working experience in and understanding of multimedia environmental regulations and their applicability to upstream oil and gas operations
• Experience working with external communities and stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive relations with HSE and Community Relations team members, external stakeholders, internal business partners and natural resource management / regulatory agencies
• Organizational abilities, especially the ability to work many short and long term issues or projects concurrently
• Working knowledge of project management processes and tools (e.g. project planning, budgeting, prioritization, scheduling, critical path analysis, cost tracking) and Decision and Risk Analysis
• Experience working with third-party contractors to cost-effectively achieve business goals
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication (written, oral and formal presentation/PowerPoint) skills essential
• Proven ability to interact within layers of internal and external organizations
• Practical self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision
• Ability to:
o Meet commitments and deliver project results
o Lead and influence others
o Cultivate diverse stakeholder support
o Use communications and interpersonal skills to align people and motivate to achieve goals
o Promptly identify, surface, and facilitate resolution of conflicts between project stakeholder
