The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company responsible for the Construction, Ownership and Operation of it's own Plants.

The Role:
My client are looking for a Environmental Specialists that can support all aspects of environmental management relating to their ongoing PetroChemical project, and undertake monitoring and audit activities to ensure that the work undertaken by their contractors is consistent with the agreed approach to environmental management as set out in the Environmental Management System (EMS).

You'll be required to bring in-depth understanding of environmental issues - particularly their application to construction projects - increasing their awareness of environmental matters as well as the environmental obligations of their project teams. Naturally, you'll have a proactive approach to environmental management, combined with the confidence and gravitas to communicate and influence colleagues at all levels.

We need you to establish and maintain a fully integrated work method to provide and carry through the full and timely delivery of Projects, to monitor all forms of required environmental consents, and to monitor evidence of all works being completed in a manner that satisfies all conditions set out by the consents granting bodies. As part of your role, you will:

*Co-ordinate activities involved in the process of obtaining all consents required by environmental legislation and any conditions pertaining to delivery of projects;
*Support process for identifying and approving environmental design requirements;
*Monitor environmental performance of projects;
*Create and monitor the implementation of environmental plans, strategies, standards, procedures and systems, regulations and statutory legislation within the programme, in line with corporate requirements;
*Support the measurement and certification of the programme's performance against environmental legislation, standards and objectives; developing and maintaining the programme's EMS and supporting environmental documentation and facilitate continued improvement in the programme's environmental performance;
*Support the development and maintenance of the programme's EMS Provide input to the education and training of the programme's staff to monitor that they are fully aware of their responsibilities for the environment and EMS;
*Subject to the approval of the Government and Corporate Affairs function, liaise with Governmental departments and outside environmental agencies as required by individual projects;
*Comply with the Infrastructure Investment Competence Framework.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*It is important that you have previous Chemical or Oil industry related experience.
*An in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation
*Experience in undertaking environmental assessments and identifying risk
*Outstanding presentation and information management skills
*Educated to a degree level in environmental management
