The Company:
Our Client has operations in the world’s most important oil and gas regions and are leaders in working in extremely difficult environments.

The Role:
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
– Provide expert advice and execution related to timely approval of EIAs in Poland related to exploration and development of natural gas preferred, but will consider candidates with EIA related experience in other major projects (construction, building of operation facilities, wind farms, etc). This includes the development of Project Information Cards (PICs) which is a precursor to EIA generation.

Regulatory Compliance & Advocacy
– Understanding and complying with all Polish and EU environmental regulations and requirements, including emerging external regulations. Assist in regulatory advocacy by working closely with local, regional and national regulators (e.g., GDOS, RDOS, Voivodeship, Gmina, Powiat) as well as with NGOs.

External Stakeholder Planning & Community Engagement
– Provide environmental expertise and support local Public Relations staff via Communications Protocol in stakeholder engagement plans and community engagement works.

Environmental Monitoring
– Develop and implement environmental monitoring protocols related to exploration operation activities. Monitoring activities include sampling and monitoring of soil, water, air, noise and seismicity. Additional activities include development of mitigation plans to protect people and environment related to these environmental aspects.

Waste Management
- Identify waste facilities for disposal of solid and liquid waste.Contribute to the development of both short and long term plans. This includes auditing waste facilities to comply with internal standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Ideally qualified to degree level in science/engineering coupled with an environmental specific qualification (e.g. Environmental Sciences Masters degree and/or Diploma in Environmental Management). PhD preferred, but would consider Master’s Degree person (graduated).

- Strong working knowledge of industry standards and practices, environmental legislation, techniques and technology with demonstrable experience in drilling operations in Poland likely gained over a 5-10 year period.

- Must be fluent in English and Polish both oral and written.
