The Role:
Position EPSCC1 Welding Engineer

Job dimensions:
• To manage the Yard QA/QC activity, the yard inspection team with regard to the work performed by the EPC contractor.
• To assist the project management team (Including DP team) in the organisation, implementation and audit of quality procedures related to the yard construction.
• To review and approve suppliers’ and contractors’ welding data books, including welding and repair procedures, welding qualification procedures, PWHT qualification procedures, welders’ and welding operators’ qualifications, etc.

Activities:
Health, Safety and Environment :
• Assist Project Management to ensure compliance with TEPM Safety Objectives.
• Ensures and promotes the use of the Company safety and environment rules and specifications though out the works.
• Ensures that contractors are geared to comply at all time safety rules.

Job Duties :
• To manage the QA/QC activities, Inspectors and supervisors to meet the construction schedule, including:
- To provide assistance to the Site Inspectors and Supervisors,
- To organise and plan site inspection work,
- To define particular areas where attention should be focused.
• To coordinate with contractor representatives all QA/QC matters on yard, including mobilisation of third parties.
• To review and validate any deviation raised at yard site (NCR and CAR)
• To review and approve all the construction technical queries raised by the contractor at yard site.
• To coordinate all the inspections activities with the Yard CSR.
• To review and approve all contractor and subcontract welding documentation.
• To monitor and witness the welding qualification program include the sub-contractors (Procedures and Welders)
• To review all the welding documentation required for the hook up phase has been duly prepared, submitted and approved.
• To ensure that the quality record books are properly documented and maintained by the contractor.
• To report to the CSR on the Inspection activities, and possible problems discovered during or related to the inspection of:
- Material and equipment.
- Work performed on site.
• To conduct regular QA/QC Yard audits of contractors and take any necessary action arising from these audits.
• To monitor and report on the compilation of the QA/QC and pre-commissioning dossiers(hard and soft electronic copies)
• To develop the company procedure applicable at the yard.
• To issue and report the yard QA/QC weekly report,

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• International Welding engineer (IWE)
• Experienced QA/QC leader, with a good level of technical understanding of all the disciplines involved in the yard construction.
• At least 8 years’ experience with large onshore and offshore oil and gas projects.
• Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
• Negotiation and team management skills.
